Home Care & Support

"in your own home tailored care plans specific to your needs"

At JBS Compassionate Care we provide that much needed care and support in client's homes to assist in all aspects of their daily life, such as personal care, medication support, meal preparation, companionship, accompanying our clients shopping or on outings and domestic support.

A little bit about me ... My name is Gill, a mother of two grown-up children with over 15 years' experience working within the NHS primarily as a Health Care Assistant leading to an Assistant Practitioner position within the Community Respiratory Team a role that included providing care and support to patients suffering with various respiratory issues such as COPD, Asthma, Oxygen Therapy, and End of Life Care.

Joyce & Bill, my late parents, suffered with Parkinsons / Dementia, and it is those lasting memories that gave me the inspiration to start JBS Compassionate Care providing care and support to others during what is such a difficult and often painful time.

Home based in Darlington primarily providing care and support within a ten-mile radius of the town, however I am happy to discuss your specific needs directly with you. With the necessary Insurance Cover in place, I am also registered with the Government's Enhanced DBS Update Service that allows me to keep my certificates up to date and for you to check my certificate status online.

"Empathy" | "Compassion" | "Caring"

Gill has been caring for my elderly mum, who has onset dementia, for 6 months.

I would be happy to recommend her support work to others.

Gill is professional, dedicated and extremely helpful and trustworthy.

I first met Gill when she was providing Respiratory care for my Mum, who was diagnosed with advanced pulmonary fibrosis. Always calm and smiling, Gill is a professional, dedicated & compassionate person, putting her patients care first. Gill also extends essential support to the wider family, be this through her continued calmness or simply explaining the medical jargon into basic terms! I would happily recommend her care to others.

For several weeks Gill has been coming 5 days a week to shower my husband John who has severe impaired mobility due to vascular dementia. She is very capable and professional treating John with kindness and dignity with plenty of humour shared between them. She always arrives on time with a happy smile. Apart from showering, dressing and leaving the bathroom clean and tidy she is always willing to help with any practical problems and advice when requested. We could not wish for a more helpful kind carer.
